Project Manager Role Description:

The Workplace Practice Project Manager will work closely with a Delivery Lead in ensuring engagements are being delivered successfully on time, to quality, and protecting margin.

The Project Manager will also support Pre-Sales activities where required including the development and delivery of client proposals and presentations in conjunction with the Sales team.  

You will be:

  • Leading and owning delivery engagements
  • Managing and maintaining engagement commercials
  • Acting on behalf of the Workplace practice in Sales opportunity development
  • Supporting the proposal and Statement of Work building processes
  • Driving and embodying CSX values and culture

Responsibilities:

Delivery Management

  • Engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders managing expectations whilst focusing on customer satisfaction and CSX company goals
  • Responsible for understanding and delivering the scope, activities, and deliverables for the engagement  
  • Maintain and run internal and external delivery reviews to provide regular updates on progress, setting up the appropriate governance to facilitate successful delivery
  • Responsible for project / programme commercials ensuring payment milestones and deliverables are aligned, tracked, and understood
  • Manage risk, issue and conflict, escalating where necessary ensuring early sight of potential issues to the Delivery Lead
  • Build and maintain the delivery plan ensuring scope, time, cost, resourcing and schedule are aligned with deliverables and outcomes
  • Provide oversight of deliverables submitted by the project team for internal review prior to review with the customer
  • Track timesheet and expense submissions, ensuring the delivery keeps to forecasted spend, driving efficiencies where possible
  • Execute upon activities and deliverables as appropriate ensuring these are operated to CSX guidelines and utilising CSX IP where available providing recommendations for improvement.

Pre-Sales

  • Work with Sales to develop proposals and estimates for opportunities
  • Build Statements of Work aligned to the proposal and pricing
  • Prepare and present proposal collateral to prospective clients
  • Assist in the development of relationships with potential customers

Key Skills & Experience:

Your skills and experience include:

  • 8 years proven project management experience managing mid-large scale technology transformation projects to Enterprise clients  
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering infrastructure, cloud, security, or Microsoft 365 projects
  • Strong project management skills (planning, reporting, risk, and issue management)  
  • Delivered T&M and Fixed Price engagements with accountability for the financial management  
  • Strong stakeholder management, presentation and negotiation skills working with and reporting to senior management / C-Level  
  • Experience of working within Agile and Scrum and iterative based deliveries
  • Professional Project management certification preferred
  • Previous consultancy experience is desired
  • A good communicator, able to convey often difficult or ambiguous concepts to a customer in a way that they can grasp, relate to, and understand
  • Exposure to or experience of writing proposals and Statements of Work
  • Creative, tenacious with a strong desire to drive company goals
  • Self-starter who is able to prioritise effectively and deliver without requiring close supervision
  • A strong team player with the ability to lead from the front and drive excellence within the teams.
